 A great article from EnoBytes.com about the relevance of social media in the wine world.

In an industry steeped in tradition and style, I understand a knee-jerk reaction of reluctance and dismissal.  However, I’ve seen nothing but positive outcome from those who are eager to keep their audience engaged via Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Personally, I love getting a Tweet from a winery about harvesting news in real-time.  It makes me feel more engaged and increases the personal connection to a place.

For those reluctant to engage in the New Media landscape, please take note of the logical, lateral thinking that Clay Shirky employs in this TED talk:

Great post guys! I have loved Shirky’s blog and been meaning to get to his book. That is all the incentive I needed to go out and buy it. Somehow I missed that TED talk.
