Be On The Ball For Argentina!

Tomorrow, October 2nd at the Sutton Place Hotel, check out the Wines Of Argentina tasting from 7:00-9:30!  For industry folk, there’s also a trade version from 2:30-5:00.

Argentina is the 5th largest wine producing country in the world, renowned for brambly Malbecs and juicy Torrontés.  Here’s a good refresher on the country’s wines.  I’m focused on looking for the less common varietals, from Pinot Noirs to Semillons, pinks and beyond.  I’m particularly interested in seeing if there’s gonna be any Pedro Giménez on offer, an Argentinian varietal that is rumoured to be a distant cousin of the Sherry PX grape, but more likely an alcoholic imposter in need of a little pocket money and a couch to crash on once in a while…

Salud!
