Thanks for all the tips Shea. I definitely want to take a little trip out to Berkeley, so I'll keep your suggestions.

I have checked out Terrior which I love, as well as the Jugshop which is great. Since then I've also discovered Biondivino and Arlequin wine shops which both impressed me, but I plan to do a little post on them in the near future. I still need to go to K&L, which I've been hearing a lot about.

Cheers!

Oh, and I forgot to mention both Kermit Lynch and The Spanish Table, both in the same area in Berkeley. And while your there, check out Lanesplitters Pizza for a nice cask ale with top notch pizza.

I just spent 5 months living in Berkeley before heading back to Vancouver so I'll have to pump my former hood a bit. Check out solano cellars, vintage berkeley, and, especially North Berkeley Wine Merchants. It's worth a trip to Berkeley just to hit the Cheese Board cheese shop, chez panise, and 'ici' (the best ice cream this side if Italy).

Also, check out City Beer at 8th and Folsom and tell Craig or Beth (the owners) that Shea sent you. They have an awesome selection of bottles, all of which you can open on site for the RETAIL price, and 4 rotating kegs of some top notch US microbrews.

K&L is a must, but also check out the jugshop. And, CAV winebar is always a good stop for ecclectic wine and amazing food. Terroir all natural wine merchants on 8th (right near City beer) is also essential.

Man I miss California!

All right dude! SF rules...I like Vancouver (I'm from Seattle originally), but SF is a rad town. You have to check out Paul Marcus wines in Rockridge (it's right next to the BART stop in Rockridge (Oakland) and they have a great selection of stuff in the 10-20$ range, mostly from Europe...and you'll want to go to Paul Bertolini's restaurant Oliveto while you're there. Also check out K&L which is on 4th in the city, and is far and away my favorite place to buy wine. And then for food...well, there's so much good stuff it's almost impossible to know where to start. Pizzaiolo, A16, Boulevard, Quince, The Cheeseboard, Brandy Hoes, Swan Oyster Depot...the list is fairly endless....
