I was doing a small tour around the BC Wine Institute website, which is a fantastic local resource, and found a listing for “Neck Of The Woods Winery” in Langley, BC.
According to the listing:
| Neck of the Woods Winery is one of Langley’s newest family owned & operated estate winery and vineyard. We produce red & white wines made from 100% BC grown grapes. We invite you to visit our fortress-like winery and taste our wines. |
Fortress-like?
Their website is non-existent, so no clues there.
A quick look at Google Maps shows that, indeed, they do have a fair amount of vines:
I’m gonna be cloistered over the next three days with a bunch of notable wine folk, judging the Vancouver Magazine International Wine Awards. I believe a little sleuthing about this will be in order…
If you know anything about Neck Of The Woods, by all means let us know…
It is the old Glenugie winery. Very sad story, I went out to visit years ago, the owner told me one of of kids had a run in with a forklift and it took the fun out of it for them so they were trying to sell. I just read that his wife died of cancer and he then had a heart attack.
