
For what it’s worth, a new study by a team from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany, have found that prolonged contact between white wine and teeth causes the tooth enamel to rot more quickly than red wine. Which I guess makes sense because white wines are often higher in tartaric acid and lower in PH - does this mean that a lean, razor-sharp Mosel Riesling will cause more damage than a flabby, buttery, Chardonnay? Oh, oh.
Also…Don’t brush your teeth!! This rubs the acids on the enamel and promotes rot. Maybe rinse with water first. Pay attention to the pint glass-sized pour the photographed woman in the linked article is holding. No wonder all her teeth are rotting…
