I’m excited to announce that starting this Sunday, November 1st, I’ll be introducing a new segment to Cherries and Clay called “Sunday School.” With a little more of an educational edge, I’m going to be exploring specific appellations or sub-regions and taking you along for the ride. These wont be broad groupings like Southern France or the Languedoc, but more focused… say Minervois. If you’ve learned about or traveled to these regions in the past, this will be an opportunity for you to brush up on some fading facts and if it’s uncharted territory, why not learn something new? If you’re already an expert or you call this region home, then feel free to comment and share your experiences with everyone.
The best part is that I’ll be tasting wines from these places and suggesting some buys as well.
With me being in California and all, I figure there’s no better place to start than right here. For the first feature I’ll be picking a few AVAs from Northern Napa Valley. Check back this Sunday!
