A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall

Hey, Vancouverites!  Had enought yet?

Well, we can despise it or we can enjoy it.

If you choose the latter, then you can do what I did last night.

There is hardly a better way to combat the heavy rains then to step in to any Memphis Blues Barbecue House, tuck into a Pulled Pork Sandwich, and wash it down with some Rosé.

The wine list at Memphis Blues is tiny, but always well chosen.  The perfect match for my sandwich was easily the Castel Del Monte Rossato.  80% Bombino Nero with the other 20% being Montepulciano, its strawberry, cherry and juicy citrus notes with a bit of spice heartily stood up to the salty, spicy, barbecue-y deliciousness of my meal.  And for 6 bucks a glass?  A steal.

And based on this:

…you’ll have plenty of opportunity to give it a whirl.

Waldorf WIne Group and Memphis Blues will be doing a wine and barbeque sampling session in the demonstration kitchen at the back of the store.

Best of all, it is FREE.
