I dunno.

Call me crazy, but I really think Jake knocked it outta the park with the awesome, important post below.  Thanks everyone for commenting, and keep ‘em coming as well.  The issue seems to be reaching a tipping point, reminiscent of the Cellared In Canada controversy and how quickly things came around once the public realized they were being hoodwinked.  One can hope.

So anyways, a little detour here to lighten things up and a hearty recommendation for these long summer days…

LaFrenz 2009 Semillon, Naramata BC, $20

A steal!  This is one of the best Semillons I’ve known to come out of the Okanagan.  It’s totally varietally correct with key lime, apricot and peachy notes and that oh-so-good waxy mouthfeel that just makes it lip-smackingly delicious.  There’s also the tiniest lashing of toffee on the end, which just gives it that certain something that has me smitten with it.  The thing can also lie down for a few years, something I’ll need a lot of will power and restraint to accomplish.  It’s what Semillon should be and what Okanagan Semillon can be.

Well done!

I can’t think of a better pairing:
