A few days ago, Talia Baiocchi, who has often covered the wine side of things for Eater, was officially titled as Eater Wine Editor. I like her style and spin on things and her tendency to write about restaurant wine lists and sommeliers from around the US. Her column is called Vintage America.

In her newest article she looks at 10 of the Hottest New Wine Lists Across America and it’s definitely worth reading for adding new spots to your radar. I love that she’s included Bar Tartine in San Francisco and the Woodsman Tavern in Portland. Ambonnay Bar in Portland was new to me, pouring exclusively sparkling wine by the glass and I nearly choked on my drink when I looked at the price list. The Champagnes by the glass start at, cough, eleven bucks.

Sweet, just made a reso at Bar Tartine – never actually been there.
