Dude! Whenever I’m presenting a BC wine seminar and I mention that Oliver-Osoyoos literally has a desert climate with cactus, rattlesnakes and so on, I can usually note a few folks mentally calling bullshit. I’m sure there’s an assumption that someone one time saw a small garter snake and dramatically labelled it improperly.
Well, check out THIS bad boy, found around Road 13 Vineyards by Dan Skaros – South Okanagan fire chief and vineyard mechanic! Just one of the fun things you may catch if you give Road 13′s Facebook Page a ‘Like!’
Cool stuff!
Hello Dan:
I am impressed with your rattler inside the house and so casual. How many years have you been handling snakes? Did someone teach you or can one learn alone?
I lived in satun Thailand for 3 years and snakes were a hobby. They have Malyan Pit Vipers, Cobras, King Cobras, Oriental Whip snakes and others. Most of those I saw were dead on the road where rubber tree cutters throw them. I reasearched by google images.
Let me hear about your snakes. How often and were you see them.
